Teen camp is right around the corner and God is moving in the youth of New England! When we were praying about what God wants to say to teens this year, we were lead to 2 Timothy 2:21 “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work” We want to see teenagers SET APART for the master’s use!
In 2023, there are more distractions than any other time. Everyone has a cell phone in their hand, pressures are being placed on young people to find their identity at younger ages and influencers are setting unreal expectations for life goals. Our children need to know that they can set themselves apart from what “everyone else is doing”. We don’t have to buy into the world’s idea of what is cool, what is acceptable and what is “normal”. We want teenagers to know that it’s OK to stand out from the crowd and that they don’t have to give in to the pressure to be someone they aren’t.

Every year, our goal at teen camp is to remove the distractions and teach the young people how to focus on God’s plan for their lives. We encourage them to hear from God about who they are and the plan He has for their life. This year, we want to see teenagers set themselves apart. We hope they will make decisions to live a righteous and holy life that can be used by God to reach their generation.
We are called, as God’s people, “to be holy as He is holy” (! Peter 1:16). It’s not always easy but it is something that we should all be working towards. Being holy means to eliminate the things in our lives that will pull us away from God, cause us to sin or take us out of His will. We all have to make the decision to set ourselves apart and seek after God with all that we have. We have to put aside the what other people will think or say about us and we have take time to get into God’s presence so that we can hear from Him.
It is only through prayer, reading the Bible, attending youth group and church, getting away at teen camp, and forcing ourselves to “go against the flow” that we will truly be able to set ourselves apart for the Master’s use!
