In January of this year, we sought God for the direction of camp. We heard “Breakthrough” and “Encounter”. We realized that breakthrough can only happen when you have had a true encounter with God. After a year of remote learning, church closings, youth group cancellations and uncertainty, we knew that God wanted to move on this generation in a mighty way. However, when we heard breakthrough, what we saw was not a wall that the youth had to breakthrough in order to advance, or chains that had to be broken off. What we saw were teens breaking through to a deeper relationship with God. Our daughter, Moriah, caught the vision this way, she saw it as a glass ceiling that the youth had to breakthrough in order to reach up to God. She saw God wanting to reach down to His people but they had to breakthrough the barriers that kept them from deepening their relationship with Him. She also saw things breaking off of the teens as they reached up to God. Thus, the T-shirt design was made. It is the perfect representation of what God had shown us.
It was also the perfect representation of what happened at camp. We witnessed teens pressing into worship, experiencing joy, healing and revival. Revolution Youth Camp 2021 saw teens freed from depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety and fear. Teens were released in their own giftings and prayed over each other for healing.
The last night, we lost power due to a thunderstorm. It didn’t stop our teens from worshipping God with their whole being and receiving God’s word from our guest minister Preston Shuttlesworth.
Every year we say “This was the best camp yet!”, however this year was one of the most powerful years we’ve ever had. We are looking forward to what God has in store for these “on-fire” teens and for our next camp!
